oneSSHot FAQ

What is oneSSHot?
oneSSHot is basically an ssh remote command trigger app for the Jolla phone. It allows for converting ssh commands to remote systems into one-tap actions on the Jolla phone.

Where can I get it?
oneSSHot is currently available for download on the Jolla Store.

How does it work?
oneSSHot uses the ssh private/public keypair approach to manage trust between the Jolla phone and the remote systems to be managed. A private/public keypair is generated if none exists yet and the public key is displayed on screen and published online, if internet access is available. Configuring the public key on the remote systems is required in order to complete the process - and this should be done once per remote system, as long as the private/public keypair isn't changed on the Jolla phone. Managing remote systems, or "Hosts" and linked remote ssh actions, or "Profiles", is done using an SQLite database for data persistance.

Where are oneSSHot's files stored on the Jolla phone?
~/.local/share/harbour-onesshot (this includes both QML pages and ssh private/public keypair files)

How may I get some confirmation back, about my issued ssh commands?
Currently, "sshots" are fired without waiting for a "hit confirmation", to be added perhaps on future releases.

I'd like to edit a profile/host!
Use long press over the list item to enable editing.

I'd like to reset the app!
There is a "Clear Database" option which will clear all host and profile database entries. There is also an option to remove the private/public keypair - be careful though, generating a new keypair will imply reconfiguring Jolla's public key on your remote systems, once more.

I'm getting a never-ending spinner when checking my public key/my added profiles get deleted!
On the first run, make sure to add a host > add a profile linked to that host > then check the public key. It is recommended to execute this sequence while afterwards you're ok to add, update or remove hosts and/or profiles.

How may I completely remove oneSSHot?
Uninstall oneSSHot the usual way by long pressing the icon, and after uninstalling, manually ssh in over developer mode and delete the ~/.local/share/harbour-onesshot directory, if present.

Have you tested it on recent SailfishOS versions?
Last version it was tested on: 1.0.8.21 - success

I heard that there's a oneSSHot Ambience available...?
Check the https://openrepos.net/ website, the oneSSHot Ambience is available there.
